2024 IIHF World Junior Championship – 50/50 Beneficiaries and Legacy
Hockey New Brunswick in partnership with Hockey Canada will be offering an online 50/50, with draws taking place throughout the 2024 World Junior Championship.
Canada’s Ultimate 50/50 program helps ensure that the legacy of the 2024 IIHF World Junior Championship extends long past the gold medal game and will support local programs on and off the ice for years to come.
Proceeds from the 2024 IIHF World Junior Championship 50/50 program will support organizations in your community that work towards greater safety and inclusiveness in and around hockey, including but not limited to diversity, equity & inclusion initiatives, the Hockey Canada Assist Fund and grants for Minor Hockey Associations.
Hockey New Brunswick has identified the below beneficiaries for 50/50 sales within New Brunswick:
Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion initiatives:
- The hosting of neurodiverse programs throughout New Brunswick
- Education for players, coaches and parents on Safe Sport
- Hosting of camps for underrepresented groups
Hockey Canada Assist Fund
The Hockey Canada Foundation Assist Fund was created in response to the many families experiencing financial challenges. The goal of the Fund is to help Canadian youth access hockey and play the game they love.
The Assist Fund will provide up to $500 per player in registration fee subsidies to approved applicants who are registered with a Hockey Canada-sanctioned association.
Minor Hockey Associations:
- Grants for Minor Hockey Associations with a focus on player recruitment and coach development
The net proceeds from your purchase go to the above listed initiatives, ensuring that you are directly contributing to meaningful change close to home.
With draws taking place throughout the tournament, you can contribute to the legacy that the World Juniors 50/50 will have in your province and support important initiatives taking place that help provide a safe and welcoming environment for all participants on and off the ice.Draw dates:
Draw # 1: December 19th at 11:30 a.m. AST until December 27th at 11:00 a.m. AST
Draw # 2: December 27th at 11:30 a.m. AST until January 1st at 11:00 a.m. AST
Draw # 3: January 1st at 11:30 a.m. AST until January 6th at 11:00 a.m. AST
In addition to the above draws there’s early bird prizing which includes gift cards to the Hockey Canada online store, signed Team Canada jerseys and tickets to the 2025 IIHF World Championship that’ll be hosted in Ottawa.
