Pathway to Hockey Coverage

 

Hockey Canada is pleased to announce the return of the Pathway to Hockey Coverage for Local Hockey Associations that are looking to run their own ‘’introduction or try hockey’’ events or programs in 25-26. This program provides the necessary insurance coverage for your participants, letting you execute your event with peace at mind – and Hockey Canada pays for the coverage. 

  • What are Pathway to Hockey events or programs?
    • Pathway to Hockey events or programs (commonly known as try hockey programs) are designed to provide fun, safe and affordable introduction to hockey opportunities to all Canadians. 
    • These are events or programs that are run and managed by Local Hockey Associations – with the objective of growing their membership. 
    • Pathway to hockey events or programs can be a simple one-day event or a program that teaches the fundamentals of our game.
  • What is the Pathway to Hockey Coverage designed for?
    • The Pathway to Hockey Coverage Form is designed for Local Hockey Associations that wish to run programming which includes children that are not currently registered with a Local Hockey Association and may not have the equipment, experience, financial means or desire to join a rostered team.

This season we will be offer ‘I Belong In Hockey’ bracelets to associations participating in the Pathway to Hockey Coverage, while supplies last. The bracelets are a symbol of unity, inclusion, and belonging—representing our collective commitment to fostering a welcoming and supportive hockey environment. They serve as a daily reminder that hockey is for everyone, regardless of background or experience. 

  • You will be asked to provide a shipping address where we can send your bracelets. We will send enough to match your estimated participant numbers.
