Major Bantam Atlantic Championship Awarded to Quispamsis

Quispamsis, NB – Hockey New Brunswick has announced that the town of Quispamsis will host the 2020 Major Bantam Atlantic Championship next spring, the host team will be the KV Kings.
The event will be hosted at the state of the art qplex in Quispamsis from April 2nd-5th, 2020.
The championship will crown the top Major Bantam teams in Atlantic Canada. Teams will include the provincial Champions from Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island and the host KV Kings.
Quispamsis last hosted the event in 2011, which was the first event hosted at the qplex. Since then, the qplex and town of Quispamsis have been hosts to the 2016 Telus Cup, Hockey Canada’s National Midget Championship and the 2019 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge.
“We are excited to be returning to Quispamsis – the community support they have shown in past events has been outstanding. We’re confident that the local organizing committee will once again provide the participating teams with a first class and memorable event”, said Todd Pye, President of Hockey New Brunswick.
“The KV Kings are honoured to be selected as hosts for this prestigious event. Our committee would like to thank the town of Quispamsis, EDZA South and Hockey New Brunswick for their support”, said Tim Ryan, Host Committee Chair.
“Quispamsis is thrilled to be hosting the Major Bantam Atlantic Championship in April,” said Mayor Gary Clark. “We have proven we can roll out the red carpet for significant hockey tournaments. We look forward to cheering on our KV Kings as they skate for the title on home ice.”
Event alumni include Sidney Crosby, Nathan MacKinnon and Jake Allen.
