Shoot out win gives NB Male Under-16 Team Bronze at QMJHL Challenge
Boisbriand, QC – The New Brunswick Male Under-16 team wrapped up tournament play at the QMJHL Challenge in Boisbriand, Quebec today with a 4-3 shootout come from behind win against Nova Scotia.
Down 3-0 entering the third period Team NB clawed back on goals from Alexis Daniel, Josh Nadeau, and Carter McCluskey who tied the game with the goalie pulled with 1:41 remaining in the third.
Overtime was scoreless, sending the game to a shootout. Nicolas Sheehan stopped all 3 shots in the shootout and Josh Nadeau scored on NB’s third shot to lead the team to bronze.
Other games in the tournament included a 3-1 win vs PEI, 4-1 loss to Quebec White, 8-0 loss to Quebec Blue, and a 5-0 win over Newfoundland.
