KATIE PEDDLE ANNOUNCED AS DIRECTOR, FEMALE HOCKEY
Fredericton, NB – Hockey New Brunswick is pleased to announce the appointment of Katie Peddle as the organizations first Director, Female Hockey, she will begin her role on May 23rd.
Katie comes to Hockey New Brunswick with an extensive hockey background as a player and more recently as a coach. Originally from Labrador City, NL, Katie represented her home province at the Atlantic Challenge from 2013 to 2016, at the Canada Winter Games in 2015 and Team Atlantic in 2016. Katie went onto to play four years at St. Mary’s University, in Halifax, NS.
After graduating from St. Mary’s University, Katie continued her education, completing a Master of Business Administration degree in Sport and Recreation Management at the University of New Brunswick, where she also completed an internship with the Canadian Sport Institute Atlantic as a Performance Pathway Intern. In 2021, Katie was named Head Coach of the Central Female Hockey Association U13 AA Storm, a position she’s held for two seasons. In the Spring of 2022, Katie was selected as the New Brunswick recipient of the Hockey Canada / BFL Female Coach of the Year Award. This season Katie was named as an Assistant Coach with the HNB Female Under-16 team.
Her responsibilities with Hockey New Brunswick will include the Female High Performance Program, management of Female Regional Championships, leading Hockey Canada Female programs (We Are Coach Clinics, Global Girls Game, World Girls Hockey Weekend, Esso Fun Days), Female Skills Development Camps, support for the Female Commission and working collaboratively with Female Hockey Associations and Leagues on strategic initiatives.
Katie’s strong leadership experience and work ethic will make her a welcome addition to the Hockey New Brunswick team.
