Hockey New Brunswick to provide grants for Female Hockey initiatives
Hockey New Brunswick is pleased to announce recipients from the World Junior 50/50 legacy that was co-hosted in Moncton and Halifax. Through the World Junior 50/50 proceeds, $88,000 was allocated to Female Hockey initiatives.
The grants are designed to strengthen female hockey programming, with a particular focus on three areas: Athlete Experience, Leadership, and Promotion. The primary objective is to achieve growth in the female game at every age group and level of play for players, coaches, and support staff.
After reviewing the grant applications, $52,875 of the legacy fund will be distributed among 10 female and co-ed associations and teams in New Brunswick. A second round of applications is now available, with an application deadline of September 1st. CLICK HERE to access the application form.
We would like to congratulate the following associations and teams on receiving these grants:
Bathurst Minor Hockey Association
They will receive funding to assist with the costs of jerseys and ice time for new hockey teams, shared goalie equipment, as well as the costs associated with the promotion of their female programs.
Fundy Female Hockey Association
This funding will be used to help cover the costs of jerseys for a new U13AAA program, ‘Learn to Play’ and Intro to Hockey clinics, as well as costs associated with Kraken Day events.
Fundy Kraken U18 AAA
This grant will help cover the cost of planned skill sessions and the equipment that will be needed for these sessions.
Greater Miramichi Female Hockey Association
Funding will be used to help cover the costs of ice time for new U7 and U9 programs, new sets of goalie equipment, equipment aides, and costs associated with promotion.
Hockey Dieppe-Memramcook
This grant will help cover the cost of goalie gear for U7, U9, and U11 programs, as well as the costs associated with the promotion of female programs and the recruitment of new players.
Oromocto Minor Hockey Association
This funding will assist in covering the costs of jerseys for new teams, try hockey events, skill sessions, and will help reduce registration costs.
Res-Ma-Vic Women’s Hockey Association
This funding will be used to help cover the costs of ice time, jerseys, as well as costs associated with marketing.
Restigouche North Minor Hockey Association
This grant will be used to help purchase new jerseys for their female teams and will assist in covering costs associated with marketing.
South East Female Hockey Association
This funding will assist in covering the costs associated with player development, goaltending equipment, and to help offset registration costs.
Western Valley Female Hockey Association
This grant will help cover costs associated with jerseys, goalie development, and new equipment.
