HNB Volunteer of the Year
Hockey New Brunswick is pleased to award the 2020-21 Volunteer of the Year to Mark Hicks of Sackville, N.B.
Established in 1995, Volunteer of the Year recognizes an active volunteer in the hockey community who makes outstanding contributions to the sport.
“He cares about us, and when you are a hockey player, having a coach who cares as much as he does is a very good thing,” said one of his players.
Mark is an assistant coach for the U13 Mac Rangers of the Sackville Minor Hockey Club. He’s been an active volunteer in the association for nearly a decade, serving as both head and assistant coach across divisions. In the 2020-21 season, Mark attended and coached at every clinic put on by SMHC.
As a long-time paramedic in Sackville, Mark is well known in the community. While his career keeps him busy, he is committed to his team and attends every practice and game he can – and he does everything with his whole heart. Mark also uses his knowledge and experience as a paramedic to serve as his team’s safety person.
Congratulations to Mark on his achievements.
