Coach of the Month for December
Kyle Rumson (Grand Lake Minor Hockey Association) chosen as Hockey New Brunswick Coach of the Month for December.
Hockey New Brunswick is happy to announce that Kyle Rumson of the Grand Lake Minor Hockey Association has been selected as the Coach of the Month for December.
Kyle is a father of 4 hockey players and wears many hats within his association. Kyle works tirelessly as a technical director, as well as coaching pee wee, helping with the initiation and novice groups and working with the midget competitive team in Minto as well.
“Kyle take his role very seriously as he is always working with other coaches, trying to ensure that they are following the guidelines set out by Hockey Canada. He makes sure everyone has access to any coaching resource that are available”. “Kyle comes to the rink prepared and the product shows on the ice. He comes with new drills, practise set ups and teaching tools that ensure that kids are learning new skills.” As technical director, “Kyle helps other coaches within the association in the ways of developing practice plans, contributes to the procurement of training aids, and organizing specialty clinics”.
As a veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces, Kyle now considers coaching a full-time job, but also finds time to be an on-ice official within the communities of Chipman and Minto as well. “For his dedication and love for the sport, this is why I would like to nominate Kyle for Coach of the Month” said a volunteer from the community.
