2023 IIHF World Junior Championship – 50/50 Beneficiaries and Legacy

The World Juniors 50/50 program helps ensure that the legacy of the tournament extends long past the gold medal game and will support critical local programs on and off the ice for years to come. 

Proceeds from the 2023 IIHF World Junior Championship 50/50 program will support organizations in your community that work towards greater safety and inclusiveness in and around hockey, including but not limited to diversity, equity & inclusion initiatives, and women’s & girls’ hockey programming. 

Hockey New Brunswick has identified the below beneficiaries for 50/50 sales within New Brunswick:

  • Sexual Violence New Brunswick
  • Female Hockey Associations
  • Hockey New Brunswick has 7 Female Hockey Associations (Res-Ma-Vic Female, Western Valley Female, Central Female, Fundy Female, South East Female, West Kent Female and Miramichi Female. There’s also co-ed Associations that run Female programming in Acadian Peninsula as well as the Chaleur and Restigouche Regions. Currently, Hockey New Brunswick has six AAA female programs, three in U15 AAA and three in U18 AAA.
  • Equity, Diversity & Inclusion initiatives
  • This season Hockey New Brunswick has delivered Equity, Diversity & Inclusion workshops to Minor Hockey Associations throughout the Province. The proceeds from the 50/50 program will assist to fund this initiative moving forward.
  • A priority for Hockey New Brunswick is to provide opportunities for all New Brunswickers to participate in hockey. This means, providing inclusive programming. Proceeds from the 50/50 program will support Para Hockey programs and the creation of additional Neurodiverse programs.

The net proceeds from your purchase go to the above listed initiatives, ensuring that you are directly contributing to meaningful change close to home.

With draws taking place throughout the tournament, you can contribute to the legacy that the World Juniors 50/50 will have in your province and support important initiatives taking place that help provide a safe and welcoming environment for all participants on and off the ice.
