Hockey Canada Concussion App survey

In September 2012, as part of a Public Health Agency of Canada initiative and a collaborative effort with the Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport, Coaching Association of Canada and Parachute, Hockey Canada created concussion awareness apps for Blackberry, iOS and Android.

The apps have now been on the market for seven months, and we would like to get your feedback on not only the apps themselves, but on concussions in general. The survey will take no longer than five minutes to complete and your feedback is very valuable to us as we continue to work towards reducing concussions in the game.

Fundy Hericanes Take Silver at Atlantics

The Fundy Hericanes recently represented NB as Provincial Champions at the Bantam AAA Female Hockey Atlantic Championship in Mount Pearl, Newfoundland. The Hericanes went undefeated in preliminary action defeating NL, PEI and the host club while skating to a draw with the NS rep Halifax Hawks. The Hericanes and Hawks met in the final with the Hericanes dominating play, outshooting their opponents 33-7. But the Hericanes couldn't solve Halifax goaltender Josee Thibeau as the NS squad skated away with a 2-0 victory. Hericanes captain Christina Rombaut was honoured with the top forward of the tournament award. Thibeau took the award for top goaltender and Nicole Gallant of PEI was named top defenceman.

This topped off a tremendously successful season for the Hericanes who ended the season with an overall record of 35-7-5. Along the way, the Hericanes also captured the NB Bantam AAA Female Hockey League regular season crown, the West Kent DQ Tournament and the Provincial title.

PRESS RELEASE – HOCKEY NEW BRUNSWICK MALE UNDER 16 TEAM SET FOR GATORADE EXCELLENCE CHALLENGE

Fredericton, NB - The Hockey New Brunswick Male Under-16 team will begin it's quest for gold this week at the Gatorade Excellence Challenge.  The inaugural event will take place at the Centre d'excellence Sports Rousseau in Boisbriand, Quebec; and will feature the provincial teams from each of the Atlantic provinces (New Brunswick, Newfoundland & Labrador, PEI & Nova Scotia), as well as two teams from Quebec.
