Hockey NB is excited to announce the third annual Female Under 13 Program. The initiative continues to develop players for Hockey Canada’s “Project 2022” program that is preparing female athletes to compete for a position on Canada’s National Women’s Hockey team in the 2022 Olympics in Beijing, China.
The U13 program will run as an introduction to the High Performance Program and is open to any 2006, and 2007 born female player currently rostered on an HNB approved team. The camp will be take place in Quispamsis at the Q-Plex on May 11th and 12th, 2018.
The camp will consist of 5 Ice sessions. There will be two Skills practices, one small area games practice, one inter-squad game, and an on ice Skills Combine. The Skills Combine will evaluate players speed, agility, and overall skating ability. Players will be provided with their times and rankings no later than 2 weeks after the camp.
The Female U13 Development Camp will also include off-ice presentations on fitness, nutrition, as well as what to expect in the Female U16 High Performance Program.
The goal of this camp is to offer female players an elite experience as well as give them an introduction to the High Performance Program. They will receive a Hockey NB jersey and Gongshow hat, and will be instructed on-ice by our High Performance Coaches. The Under 13 program is a great development opportunity for young female players and promises to be a positive hockey experience for all participants.
