Hockey New Brunswick awards four Major Midget Franchises

Hockey New Brunswick is pleased to announce that four Major Midget franchises have been awarded for entry into the New Brunswick / PEI Major Midget League. Hockey New Brunswick completed a thorough bid selection process and met with all of applicants before awarding of the franchises.

The franchises are as follows:

Zone A (West)
Office Interiors Fredericton Caps
President – Shawn Lean
Home Arena – Willie O’Ree Place - Fredericton

Zone B (South)
Saint John Vito’s
President – Kelly VanBuskirk
Home Arena - q-plex - Quispamsis

Zone C (East)
Moncton Rallye Motors Nissan Flyers
President – Blair Brooks
Home Arena – Superior Propane Centre - Moncton

Zone D (North)
Bathurst (Name TBD)
President – Hollis Chamberlain
Home Arena – K.C Irving Regional Centre - Bathurst

“We are extremely pleased with the four franchises that were selected. Each of the franchises have individuals involved with extensive experience and knowledge of Elite Level Programming, and we look forward to the success of each program moving forward”, stated Todd Pye Chair of the Selection Committee for Hockey New Brunswick.

All four teams will participate in the New Brunswick / PEI Major Midget League, along with two PEI teams (Charlottetown Pride and Kensington Wild). The four NB teams then compete annually in a provincial championship final to determine Hockey New Brunswick’s representative for the Regional Telus Cup Championships.
