HNB Female Skills Development Camps Coming to Keswick, Miramichi, & Riverview

Hockey New Brunswick will be offering local minor hockey players an opportunity to take part in a Hockey New Brunswick Skills Development Camp being held in Keswick (March 6), Miramichi (March 7), & Riverview (March 8).

The primary focus of the camp is centred around on-ice fundamental skills, with off-ice time scheduled for life skill enhancement in areas such as respect, fitness, and teamwork. Off-ice fitness sessions are included involving games with team work and proper stretching.

2018 HNB Cup

Hockey New Brunswick has now opened the registration for the 2018 HNB Cup, which will be taking place April 13-15 in Fredericton.   The event is open to all Male Under 14, 15 and 16, and Female Under 16 and 18 players.

The attached information package will provide you with more details regarding the HNB Cup, and the High Performance Program.

Hockey New Brunswick is pleased to announce Derek Green as the HNB Coach of the Month for January. Derek is the Head Coach of the Atom AA Blues of the Riverview Minor Hockey Association. Derek has been coaching hockey, soccer, football, and lacrosse for over 20 years.

HNB HIGH PERFORMANCE PROGRAM STAFF'S ANNOUNCED

Hockey New Brunswick is pleased to announce the coaching staff's for this year's High Performance Program, which includes the 2019 Canada Winter Games.

The Male Under 14, Male Under-15, Female Under-16 and Female Under 18 teams will compete against the provincial teams from Nova Scotia, PEI & Newfoundland and Labrador at the Atlantic Challenge Cup, held Oct 5th-8th in Moncton, NB.  The Male Under-16 team will face off against NS, PEI, and NL in a Canada Winter Games pre-event, held in the fall of 2018. Both the Male Under-16 and Female Under-18 teams will also attend the Canada Winter Games, held February 2019 in Red Deer, Alberta.

Atlantic AAA Hockey Championships – Website Portal Introduced

The Atlantic Branches; Hockey Newfoundland and Labrador (HNL), Hockey Nova Scotia (HNS), Hockey New Brunswick (HNB) and Hockey Prince Edward Island (HPEI) are pleased to introduce the Atlantic AAA Hockey Championships website portal.
 
The portal site will serve as the main event page for the five Atlantic AAA Hockey Championships. Once a user arrives at the main portal site they will have the ability to simply click and choose from the five AAA Atlantic Championships website links. Simply put, it serves as a ‘one stop shop’ for your Atlantic Championships website needs.

Male U-13 Spring Camp Now Available for Registration!

Hockey NB is excited to announce that registration is now open for the Male Under 13 Program. This program will run as an introduction to the High Performance Program and is open to any male player currently rostered on a Peewee AAA team in New Brunswick. (2006 born)

The camp will consist of 4 Ice sessions. There will be one Skills practice, one position specific practice, one inter-squad game, and Hockey New Brunswick Staff will be there to put the players through an on-ice skills combine. There will also be off-ice presentations on fitness, nutrition, as well as what to expect in the Male U14 High Performance Program. The camp will take place in Quispamsis, NB (Q-Plex) on May 12th & 13th.

Female U-13 Development Camp Now Available for Registration!

Hockey NB is excited to announce the third annual Female Under 13 Program. The initiative continues to develop players for Hockey Canada’s “Project 2022” program that is preparing female athletes to compete for a position on Canada’s National Women’s Hockey team in the 2022 Olympics in Beijing, China.

The U13 program will run as an introduction to the High Performance Program and is open to any 2006, and 2007 born female player currently rostered on an HNB approved team. The camp will be take place in Quispamsis at the Q-Plex on May 11th and 12th, 2018.

HNB Coach of the Month

Hockey New Brunswick is pleased to announce Mike Higgins as the HNB Coach of the Month for December. Mike pulls double duty as Head Coach of the Kennebecasis Valley Minor Hockey Association Female Pee Wee C Vipers and Atom C Hurricanes.

“During practices Coach Higgins, along with his assistant coaches, ensures the drills are at each players level. Those who are new to hockey are encouraged and praised for their efforts and players who have a higher degree of skill are challenged” says Arthur Brow, team parent. “His practices maintain a sense of fun but skill development is at the forefront.”

29th Annual Hockey New Brunswick Fundraiser

Hockey New Brunswick is a non-profit organization responsible for governing amateur hockey in the province. There are over 25,000 New Brunswick residents involved in hockey as players, coaches, officials, administrators and volunteers.

2017-2018 marks the 29th Annual HNB fundraising campaign. This campaign is a provincial fundraising program aimed toward keeping the cost of participation in amateur hockey to a minimum, while providing an opportunity for minor hockey associations, teams, and athletes to raise money for their groups.
